Privacy policy
This privacy policy applies to Memory games, an educational browser application for children to practice English, math, and fractions through memory-style matching games. The app is operated at www.playmemorygames.win.
Information we collect
- Player names: names you enter locally on a device to separate scores between players.
- Game statistics: best times, games played, and optional quiz scores, stored on your device.
- Preferences: language, theme, and similar settings in browser storage.
- Account identifier (optional): if you choose Google sign-in or cloud sync, an anonymous or Google-linked user id from our auth provider (Supabase) is used to associate saved progress with your account.
- Online play: multiplayer uses peer-to-peer connections between browsers. We do not store game moves in our database. Room codes are exchanged between players only.
How we use information
Data is used only to run the app: show your records, resume progress, and optionally sync across devices when you sign in. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.
Where data is stored
- On your device — browser local storage.
- In the cloud (optional) — Supabase database when cloud sync or Google sign-in is enabled.
Third-party services
We use the following third-party services:
- Supabase — optional authentication and cloud storage of player stats.
- Google Sign-In — optional account linking (only if you choose it).
- Google Fonts — web fonts for the user interface.
Each provider has its own privacy policy and terms.
Children
The app is intended for supervised use by children. Parents, guardians, and teachers should choose player names and decide whether to enable Google sign-in or cloud sync.
Your choices
- Play without signing in — local players only, no Google account required.
- Clear browser site data to remove local player names and scores.
- Sign out from Google in the player dialog to end a linked session.
Data retention and security
Local data remains until you clear browser storage. Cloud data is retained while your account or anonymous session exists and may be removed when you delete players or sign out, subject to our database provider’s policies. Cloud access is protected by row-level security so each user can only access their own records.
Disclaimer
The software is provided “as is” without warranty. See the in-app disclaimer (Settings → Disclaimer) for limitation of liability and terms of use.
Changes
We may update this privacy policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
